At Animal Dental Specialists of Upstate New York, we are committed to creating a calm, low-stress environment for our patients while maintaining an efficient and safe flow within the hospital. As part of that commitment, we follow the protocol below for all appointments:

Arrival & Check-In

For all appointment types, please call or text us at 315-445-5640 when you arrive. A team member will gather any necessary information and let you know when we are ready for you.

When it’s time, we will ask you to meet a team member at the door, and we will escort you and your pet inside and direct you regarding next steps.  When bringing your pet into the building, they must be secured either with a leash and collar for dogs or a sturdy carrier for cats to ensure safe transport.

Why We Do This

Our front door remains locked so we can carefully control the flow of traffic within the hospital. This allows us to prevent pets from passing by or interacting with one another in common areas.  For many of our patients, these types of interactions can increase fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS). As Fear Free professionals, we take every possible step to minimize FAS and create a more positive experience for your pet.
